In the heart of Maharashtra, nestled near the revered town of Shirdi, lies the quaint village of Kolpewadi. Here, amidst the vast fields and rustic landscapes, Atharva Kolpe, a determined young lad, is scripting his journey from humble beginnings to aspiring to become a doctor.
Â
Born into a farming family, where toil and sweat are the daily companions, Atharva’s parents, like many in the region, have tilled the land for generations. However, amidst the vast expanse of agricultural fields, they harbored a dream – a dream for their son to break the shackles of tradition and tread the path of education, a path rarely taken in their community.
Â
In Kolpewadi and its surrounding areas, the pursuit of education often takes a backseat to immediate employment opportunities. After completing their tenth standard, many youths in the region opt to work, often in the bustling cities nearby, to supplement their family’s income. Some find themselves in the thriving cooperative societies, emblematic of the region’s economic landscape, while others seek employment in nearby factories or industries.
Â
Amidst this prevailing narrative, Atharva and his family held steadfast to their aspirations. Despite the allure of immediate financial gains, they remained resolute in their belief that education was the key to unlocking a brighter future. Fuelled by his father’s unwavering determination and his own burning ambition, Atharva set his sights on a future in medicine.
Â
“I’ve been very lucky that my father decided very early on in my life that he wants me to become a doctor. Today that dream and ambition is also mine,” Atharva reflects, his voice resonating with gratitude and determination.
Â
However, the road to realizing his dream was fraught with challenges. With an annual income barely crossing the threshold of sustenance, the burden of educational expenses weighed heavily on the Kolpe family. The prospect of pursuing higher education seemed like an elusive dream, until Atharva stumbled upon the Yuva Unstoppable scholarship scheme.
Â
Recognizing the transformative potential of education, the Amitabh Shah founded Yuva Unstoppable stepped in to alleviate the financial burden on Atharva’s shoulders. The scholarship not only provided financial assistance but also served as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards Atharva’s aspirations. As Atharva’s journey unfolded, he emerged as a beacon of resilience and determination. While his surroundings painted a picture of scarcity and struggle, Atharva drew strength from his inner resolve and the unwavering support of his family and friends.
Â
“Atharva’s story epitomizes the essence of our mission at Yuva Unstoppable – to provide support and encouragement to deserving individuals like him, enabling them to realize their fullest potential,” remarks Amitabh Shah, Founder of Yuva Unstoppable.
Â
Today, as Atharva embarks on his journey towards becoming a doctor, his story serves as a testament to the transformative power of education and the indomitable spirit of the human endeavour, states Amitabh Shah. From the rustic fields of Kolpewadi to the hallowed halls of academia, Atharva Kolpe’s journey stands as a beacon of hope, inspiring generations to come.
